Author and Grateful Dead musicologist and drummer Mickey Hart wanted the kitchen sink for the cover of his illustrated and researched history of music and drumming, Planet Drum. So, we gave him the whole planet. Trio partner Carol’s concept sketch was approved and beautifully rendered by Nancy Nimoy. Innovative at the time, the publisher, HarperCollins, with Mickey’s endorsement agreed to our firm request to plant two trees for every one needed to manufacture the book.
